Sukta 1.32
अहन्वृत्रं वृत्रतरं व्यंसमिन्द्रो वज्रेण महता वधेन । स्कन्धांसीव कुलिशेना विवृक्णाहिः शयत उपपृक्पृथिव्याः ॥
áhan vṛtráṃ vṛtrátaraṃ vyàṃsam índro vájreṇa mahatā́ vadhéna | skándhāṃsīva kúliśenā vívṛkṇā́híḥ śáyata upapṛ́k pṛthivyā́ḥ ||
Indra abateu Vṛtra — o ainda mais vṛtra, o que estendia o bloqueio — com o Vajra, com o grande golpe de morte. Como ombros talhados por um machado, a serpente jazia rasgada, colada à Terra; o poder da obstrução ruiu.
