Os brâmanes—de mente recolhida, versados nos Vedas e estimados pela conduta reta—seguiram Bharata quando ele partiu, aos milhares, em carros de bois.
Gempolishers, potters, weaponsmiths, weavers, makers of adornments with peacock feathers, sawyers, makers of artificial ornaments, perforators of shells and ornaments, ivoryworkers, whitewashers, purveyors of fragrant essences, renowned goldsmiths, blanketcleaners, hotbath attendants, physicians, vintners, incense merchants, washermen, tailors, headmen of villages and hamlets, actors along with their wives, fishermen -- all followed Bharata.
Those grounded in śāstra and good conduct support the journey—suggesting that dharma is validated by learning joined with virtue, not learning alone.
Large numbers of Brahmins accompany Bharata as part of the broader departure toward Rama.
Bharata’s credibility in dharma: respected Brahmins consider his course worthy of accompaniment.
