अयोध्याकाण्डे द्विषष्टितमः सर्गः
Kausalyā consoles Daśaratha; grief, remorse, and nightfall
सा मूर्ध्निबध्वा रुदती राज्ञः पद्ममिवाञ्जलिम्।सम्भ्रमादब्रवीत् त्रस्ता त्वरमाणाक्षरं वचः।।।।
sā mūrdhni badhvā rudatī rājñaḥ padmam ivāñjalim | sambhramād abravīt trastā tvaramāṇākṣaraṃ vacaḥ || 2.62.11 ||
Chorando, ela ergueu até a cabeça as mãos postas do rei, como um lótus; e, assustada e tomada de comoção, falou em sílabas apressadas e vacilantes.
Frightened Kausalya, weeping and raising her palms folded like lotus on to her head, and charged with emotions said with stumbling syllables:
Dharma includes humility and repentance: when one recognizes excess in speech or action, one seeks reconciliation with respectful submission.
Kausalya’s anger breaks; she becomes frightened and emotional, and begins to plead with Dasharatha.
Kausalya’s humility and readiness to reconcile are emphasized.
