The Exposition of the Nityā-paṭala
Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada, within the Vedanga/technical discourse)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It links correct technical preparation (saṃkṣepa/reduction, gentle heating, and sun-setting) with ritual acceptability—stating that the resulting āsava becomes devatā-priya, i.e., fit and pleasing for sacred use.
Bhakti here is expressed through careful, rule-based offering: devotion is not only emotion but also precise upacāra—preparing substances properly so they are worthy for divine acceptance.
A practical procedural teaching: reduction (saṃkṣipya), controlled heating (tāpayet), and sun-exposure (ātape) as a rapid finishing method for an āsava-type preparation used in ritual or allied technical contexts.
