रसः स्थिरांबु च वियत्स्वयुतं प्राण एव च । दाहोऽग्रियुग्रसस्तस्मास्थिराक्ष्मा दाहसंयुता । सचरः स्याज्जवीपूर्वविद्या तर्तीयतः क्रमात् ॥ ५८ ॥
rasaḥ sthirāṃbu ca viyatsvayutaṃ prāṇa eva ca | dāho'griyugrasastasmāsthirākṣmā dāhasaṃyutā | sacaraḥ syājjavīpūrvavidyā tartīyataḥ kramāt || 58 ||
Descrevem-se Rasa (essência), as águas estáveis e o espaço, juntamente com prāṇa (o sopro vital); depois vem “dāha” — o fogo, o devorador. Disso surgem formas estáveis, acompanhadas de calor. Assim, com o movimento dos seres, a sequência prossegue na terceira divisão, segundo a ordem ensinada pela ciência anterior.
