प्रोक्षण्यां तज्जलं किंचित्कृत्वात्मानं त्रिधा ततः । आत्मतत्त्वात्मने हृञ्च विद्यातत्त्वात्मने नमः ॥ २३ ॥
prokṣaṇyāṃ tajjalaṃ kiṃcitkṛtvātmānaṃ tridhā tataḥ | ātmatattvātmane hṛñca vidyātattvātmane namaḥ || 23 ||
Colocando um pouco dessa água no vaso de aspersão, deve-se então realizar sobre si mesmo uma consagração tríplice (nyāsa). (Recitando:) “Reverência Àquele cujo Ser é o princípio do Ser; e reverência Àquele cujo Ser é o princípio do conhecimento sagrado (vidyā).”

It links outer purification (prokṣaṇa with sanctified water) with inner consecration (threefold nyāsa), affirming that the deity invoked is both the essence of the Self (ātma-tattva) and the essence of sacred knowledge (vidyā-tattva).
By offering namas (obeisance) while purifying oneself, the practitioner frames ritual action as surrender: devotion is expressed through reverent invocation of the Lord as the indwelling Self and the source of all vidyā.
