Dvādaśī-vrata: Month-by-month Viṣṇu Worship and the Year-End Udyāpana
Sanatkumara (in dialogue with Narada)
Vrata: Dvādaśī-vrata
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It elevates śravaṇa (hearing) and pāṭha (recitation/teaching) of the Dvādaśī-vrata to the level of a major Vedic soma-sacrifice, showing that sincere devotional engagement can yield great spiritual merit.
By declaring that merely hearing or reciting the vrata teaching grants vast fruit, it highlights bhakti-sādhana through attentive listening and sharing sacred narratives/observances rather than relying only on expensive ritual performance.
Ritual discipline (kalpa/prayoga in the sense of vrata-vidhi) is implied: the verse stresses correct observance and transmission (vācayet) of the Dvādaśī-vrata instructions as a means to accrue yajña-like merit.
