It frames jyotiṣa as a disciplined, rule-based Vedāṅga tool—showing that even worldly measures like lifespan are approached through precise calculation under dharmic instruction, not superstition.
Direct bhakti practice is not taught in this line; instead, it supports the broader Purāṇic framework where correct knowledge (including Vedāṅga jyotiṣa) can guide a devotee’s disciplined life toward dharma and ultimately mokṣa.
Vedāṅga Jyotiṣa: an applied computational rule for āyurdaya (lifespan) using rāśi-based year additions, latitude (akṣāṃśa), degree-doubling, and traditional coefficient series to convert results into months.
