द्विगुणेष्टहृतं रूपं श्रेष्टं प्राग्रूपकं परम् । वर्गयोगांतरे व्येके राश्योर्वर्गोस्त एतयोः ॥ ३३ ॥

Transliteration

dviguṇeṣṭahṛtaṃ rūpaṃ śreṣṭaṃ prāgrūpakaṃ param | vargayogāṃtare vyeke rāśyorvargosta etayoḥ || 33 ||

Translation

A forma obtida ao duplicar e depois dividir pela quantidade desejada é declarada o melhor e supremo método preliminar. No procedimento de soma de quadrados, alguns afirmam que o resultado quadrático pertence a estas duas quantidades (tomadas em conjunto).
