The verse dramatizes the impermanence of boastful power: the asura’s roar is momentary, while the devas’ celebration follows the restoration of cosmic order. It teaches that adharma’s confidence is misplaced.
A dharma-upadeśa delivered through itihāsa-kathā style within the Purāṇa; not a direct lakṣaṇa unit, but supports dharma by exemplifying divine governance.
‘Honey’ can imply rasa (bliss/essence). Devī ‘drinking madhu’ suggests sovereign enjoyment of śakti before decisive action—mastery over both delight (rasa) and battle (ugra-kriyā).
