Purāṇas frequently establish a character’s moral and spiritual capital by describing brahmacarya and śāstra-mastery; the later fall (if any) is thereby framed as a caution about the vulnerability of even the disciplined when confronted by desire.
Vamśānucarita: a biographical-genealogical notice establishing the father’s status and learning.
‘Veda-vedāṅga’ mastery represents ordered knowledge; brahmacarya represents conserved vital force. The coming disruption of that order (by kāma) becomes a symbolic ‘breach’ preceding the heroine’s fate.
