Adhyaya 52 — The Manifestation of Nilalohita (Rudra) and the Allocation of His Names, Abodes, Consorts, and Lineages
manasvinyām ahaṃ tasmāt putro vedaśirā mama | dhūmravatyāṃ samabhavat prāṇasyāpi nibodha me ||
The naming conventions (e.g., Vedaśiras) emphasize that Vedic learning and identity are central virtues within ṛṣi lineages—knowledge is treated as an inherited and cultivated sacred trust.
Vaṁśa: continued enumeration of descendants and their maternal lines.
‘Vedaśiras’ symbolically suggests the ‘head/crest’ of revelation—an image of the lineage as a living embodiment of śruti-smṛti continuity.
