Adhyaya 27 — Madālasa’s Instruction to King Alarka: Royal Ethics, Self-Conquest, and Statecraft

पूर्णेन्दुमालोक्य यथा प्रीतिमान् जायते नरः ।

एवं यत्र प्रजाः सर्वा निर्वत्ता स्तच्छशिव्रतम् ॥

Transliteration

pūrṇendum ālokya yathā prītimān jāyate naraḥ | evaṃ yatra prajāḥ sarvā nirvattās tac chaśi-vratam ||

Translation

Assim como um homem se alegra ao ver a Lua cheia, assim também (é o ideal) onde todos os súditos estão contentes e bem estabelecidos—este é o “voto semelhante à Lua” (o modo lunar da realeza).
