Adhyaya 26 — Madālasa Names Alarka and Reorients Him Toward Kshatriya Duty
भूतैर्भूतानि मृद्यन्ते अमूर्तो मृद्यते कथम् /
क्रोधादीनां पृथग्भावात् कल्पनेयं निरर्थिका
bhūtair bhūtāni mṛdyante amūrto mṛdyate katham | krodhādīnāṃ pṛthagbhāvāt kalpaneyaṃ nirarthikā ||
“Os seres são esmagados por seres; como poderia o sem-forma ser esmagado? Visto que a ira e coisas semelhantes existem como estados distintos (separáveis), isto é apenas imaginação — sem significado real.”

Conflict and ‘crushing’ operate only among embodied entities and mental passions. The Self is untouched; thus one should not build identity around aggression or enmity.

‘Anger and the like’ are vṛttis that create the illusion of separation. Recognizing their separability implies they are not the Self; this supports inner conquest (of passions) rather than outer ‘enemy-crushing’ as ultimate.
