Dhaumya’s Enumeration of Eastern Tīrthas
Prācī-diś Tīrtha-kathana
आज्यभागेन तत्राग्निं तर्पयित्वा यथाविधि । देवा: स्वभवनं याता ऋषयश्च यथाक्रमम्,तदनन्तर भगवान् भृगुने वहाँ सब ऋषियोंके यहाँ शास्त्रीय विधिके अनुसार पुनः भलीभाँति अग्निस्थापन कराया। उस समय आज्यभागके द्वारा विधिपूर्वक अग्निको तृप्त करके सब देवता और ऋषि क्रमश: अपने-अपने स्थानको चले गये
ājyabhāgena tatrāgniṃ tarpayitvā yathāvidhi | devāḥ svabhavanaṃ yātā ṛṣayaś ca yathākramam ||
Pulastya disse: “Tendo ali satisfeito devidamente o fogo sagrado com a oblação prescrita de manteiga clarificada, os deuses partiram para suas moradas, e os rishis também se retiraram, em devida ordem, para seus respectivos lugares.”
पुलस्त्य उवाच
The verse underscores dharma as disciplined completion of sacred duty: offerings must be made yathāvidhi (according to injunction), and rites should end with orderly closure, reflecting reverence, restraint, and respect for cosmic and social order.
After the fire is properly gratified with the prescribed ghee-offering, the assembled gods depart to their own abodes and the sages disperse in due sequence, marking the formal conclusion of the ritual gathering.
