Educational Q&A

That disciplined tīrtha-yātrā (pilgrimage) and reverent bathing can yield merit comparable to major Vedic sacrifices, making dharma accessible through self-restraint, faith, and sacred travel rather than only through expensive rites.

Ghūlastya is describing a sequence of pilgrimage sites and the specific spiritual ‘fruits’ (phala) obtained by bathing or visiting them, highlighting Daśāśvamedha and Sarpadevī as places conferring exceptional merit connected with sacrifice and the Nāgas.
