Koṭikāśya’s Inquiry to the Radiant Woman near the Kadamba (कोटिकाश्यप्रश्नः)
चित्रसेन: पाण्डवेन समाश्शलिष्य परस्परम् | कुशलं परिपप्रच्छ तै: पृष्टश्षाप्पनामयम्,फिर तो चित्रसेन और अर्जुन दोनों एक-दूसरेसे मिले और कुशल-मंगल तथा स्वास्थ्यका समाचार पूछने लगे
Citrasenaḥ pāṇḍavena samāśliṣya parasparam | kuśalaṃ paripapraccha taiḥ pṛṣṭaś cāpy anāmayam ||
Disse Duryodhana: “Chitrasena e o Pāṇḍava (Arjuna) abraçaram-se em saudação mútua. Depois, com cortesia, perguntaram um ao outro pelo bem-estar — pela paz e pela ausência de enfermidade.”
दुर्योधन उवाच
The verse highlights dhārmic social conduct: even in strained circumstances, one should observe civility—greeting properly, embracing in friendship, and asking after another’s welfare and health. Ethical restraint and courtesy are presented as marks of good character.
Citrasena and Arjuna meet and exchange a respectful greeting. They embrace and inquire about each other’s well-being and health, indicating a cordial interaction between the Gandharva leader and the Pāṇḍava hero within the broader forest narrative.
