Bhima links ethical decline to cognitive and spiritual decline: when clarity (sattva) diminishes, fewer people can remain steady in truth (satya). He also suggests that fragmentation of sacred knowledge can arise from incomplete understanding of an original unity.
In Bhima’s speech, he reflects on the condition of the age: knowledge that was once unified is now treated as many divisions, and moral-spiritual steadiness has weakened, making truthful living rare.
