हनूमांश्व महासत्त्व ईषदुन्मील्य लोचने । दृष्टवा तमथ सावज्ञं लोचनैर्मधुपिड्लै: । स्मितेन चैनमासाद्य हनूमानिदमब्रवीत्,तब महान् धैर्यशाली हनुमानजीने आँखें कुछ खोलकर अपने मधुपिंगल नेत्रोंद्वारा अवहेलनापूर्वक उनकी ओर देखा और उन्हें निकट पाकर उनसे मुसकराते हुए इस प्रकार कहा
hanūmāṁś ca mahāsattva īṣad unmīlya locane | dṛṣṭvā tam atha sāvajñaṁ locanair madhupiṅgalaiḥ | smitena cainam āsādya hanūmān idam abravīt |
Disse Vaiśampāyana: Hanūmān, de grande alma, entreabriu os olhos e fitou-o com um leve desdém através de seus olhos cor de mel.
