Bhīmasena–Hanūmān Saṃvāda: The Tail Test and the Divine Path

हनूमांश्व महासत्त्व ईषदुन्मील्य लोचने । दृष्टवा तमथ सावज्ञं लोचनैर्मधुपिड्लै: । स्मितेन चैनमासाद्य हनूमानिदमब्रवीत्‌,तब महान्‌ धैर्यशाली हनुमानजीने आँखें कुछ खोलकर अपने मधुपिंगल नेत्रोंद्वारा अवहेलनापूर्वक उनकी ओर देखा और उन्हें निकट पाकर उनसे मुसकराते हुए इस प्रकार कहा

hanūmāṁś ca mahāsattva īṣad unmīlya locane | dṛṣṭvā tam atha sāvajñaṁ locanair madhupiṅgalaiḥ | smitena cainam āsādya hanūmān idam abravīt |

Disse Vaiśampāyana: Hanūmān, de grande alma, entreabriu os olhos e fitou-o com um leve desdém através de seus olhos cor de mel. Então, aproximando-se com um sorriso, Hanūmān proferiu estas palavras—dando início a uma troca moral incisiva, na qual o orgulho é contido e a verdadeira força é medida pela contenção e pelo discernimento.
