बद्ध्‌वा वा निकृतिप्रज्ञं धार्तराष्ट्रं सुदु्मतिम्‌

Transliteration

baddhvā vā nikṛtiprajñaṃ dhārtarāṣṭraṃ sudurmatim

Translation

Vidura diz: “Ou então, amarrai Dhṛtarāṣṭra—cujo entendimento foi deturpado pelo engano, cuja mente está mal inclinada.” A linha transmite a severa urgência ética de Vidura: quando o juízo de um governante se corrompe e se torna nocivo, contê-lo torna-se um ato necessário para impedir que o adharma e a ruína avancem.
