पुराउभिवाति मारुतो यमस्य यः पुर:सर: । पुरैक एव नीयसे कुरुष्व साम्परायिकम्
purābhivāti māruto yamasya yaḥ puraḥsaraḥ | purāka eva nīyase kuruṣva sāmparāyikam ||
Vyāsa disse: “Quando o vento feroz do Tempo—precursor de Yama—começar a soprar, serás levado adiante sozinho. Portanto, desde já, pratica aquele dharma que traz bem-estar no mundo de além.”

Death comes inevitably and must be faced alone; therefore one should cultivate sāmparāyika-dharma—conduct and virtues that secure welfare beyond this life—without delay.
Vyāsa admonishes the listener with an image: when Yama’s herald—the powerful wind of Time—arrives, it carries a person away alone, so one should prepare through righteous living now.
