देवतापितृप्रश्नः — Nārada at Badarīāśrama: the ultimate referent of daiva and pitṛ worship
पुरा समूलबान्धवं प्रभुर्हरत्यदु:खवित् । तवेह जीवितं यमो न चास्ति तस्य वारक:
purā samūla-bāndhavaṁ prabhur haraty aduḥkhavit | taveha jīvitaṁ yamo na cāsti tasya vārakaḥ ||
Vyāsa disse: “Desde tempos antigos, o Senhor Yama—insensível à dor alheia—leva a vida, arrancando a pessoa pela raiz, com suas próprias origens e relações. Aqui também a tua vida está nas mãos de Yama, e não há quem o detenha. Portanto, antes que chegue o tempo marcado, faz os teus arranjos para a tua própria proteção.”
