Dyūta-kathā-praśnaḥ — Inquiry into the Dice-Game Calamity
वैशम्पायन उवाच एवमुक््त्वा स भगवान् कैलासं पर्वतं ययौ । कृष्णद्वैपायनो व्यास: सह शिष्यै: श्रुतानुगै:
vaiśampāyana uvāca: evam uktvā sa bhagavān kailāsaṃ parvataṃ yayau | kṛṣṇadvaipāyano vyāsaḥ saha śiṣyaiḥ śrutānugaiḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana disse: Tendo assim falado, o venerável sábio — Kṛṣṇa Dvaipāyana Vyāsa — partiu para o Monte Kailāsa, acompanhado de seus discípulos, seguidores do caminho do saber sagrado védico.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the sanctity of the guru–disciple lineage: true knowledge is preserved and transmitted through disciplined students who follow śruti (Vedic revelation) under the guidance of an authoritative seer like Vyāsa.
After making a statement in the preceding context, Vyāsa departs for Mount Kailāsa, accompanied by his disciples; Vaiśampāyana reports this to King Janamejaya as a narrative transition to the next development.
