Yudhiṣṭhira’s Reproach to Dhanaṃjaya

Educational Q&A

The verse underscores the reality of war: once battle is joined, it becomes an all-encompassing force—noise, confusion, and violence from every direction—reminding the listener that choices leading to war inevitably unleash widespread suffering and uncontrollable consequences.

Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that the battlefield has erupted into a terrifying roar: chariots, elephants, cavalry, infantry, and clashing weapons resound from all sides, indicating intense, fully engaged combat.
