द्रोणपर्व — पञ्चदशोऽध्यायः (Droṇa Parva, Chapter 15): युधिष्ठिर-रक्षा तथा अर्जुनस्य शरवृष्टिः
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्ाभारत द्रोणपर्वके अन्तर्गत द्रोणाभिषेकपर्वमें अभिमन्युका पराक्रमविषयक चौदहवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
tathaiva carato mārgān maṇḍalāni ca sarvaśaḥ | mahāvidyutpratikāśā śalyasya śuśubhe gadā ||
Disse Sañjaya: “E assim, ao percorrer cada trajetória e girar em todos os círculos prescritos do combate de maças, a maça do rei Śalya, brilhando como um grande relâmpago, mostrava-se esplêndida.”
संजय उवाच
Even in war, action is portrayed as governed by discipline and method: the warrior’s excellence is shown through controlled technique (mārgas and maṇḍalas) rather than mere brutality, reflecting the ideal of regulated kṣatriya conduct.
Sañjaya describes the spectacle of mace-combat technique: Śalya’s mace moves through various paths and circular patterns, and its brilliance is compared to a great lightning flash, emphasizing his prowess and the intensity of the duel-like moment.
