भ्रुकुटीकुटिलै रवक्रै: प्रेक्षन्ति च परस्परम् । वे बार-बार उत्साहित होकर एक-दूसरेको डाँट बताते और क्रोधपूर्वक ओठोंको दाँतसे दबाकर भौंहें टेढ़ी करके परस्पर दृष्टिपात करते थे
bhru-kuṭī-kuṭilaiḥ rava-kraiḥ prekṣanti ca parasparam |
Sañjaya disse: Com as sobrancelhas cerradas e os rostos retorcidos em aspereza, fitavam-se mutuamente—repetidas vezes se incitavam, trocando provocações e insultos; e, em ira, mordiam os lábios, cerravam os dentes e, com o cenho torto, mediam-se com olhares hostis. A cena ressalta como a cólera e o orgulho endurecem a mente e fazem da palavra uma ferida, intensificando a queda moral que acompanha a guerra.
