भीष्मपतनविषये धृतराष्ट्रस्य प्रश्नाः | Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Questions on Bhīṣma’s Fall
व्युत्थितोत्पत्तिविज्ञानमाकाशे च गति: शुभा । अस्त्रेरसंगो युद्धेषु वरदानान्महात्मन:
sañjaya uvāca | vyutthitotpattivijñānam ākāśe ca gatiḥ śubhā | astre ’rasaṅgo yuddheṣu varadān mahātmanaḥ ||
Sañjaya disse: “Pela dádiva daquele sábio de grande alma, alcancei um conhecimento discernente sobre o surgimento e a origem dos seres, e um poder auspicioso de mover-me pelo céu; e, nas batalhas, as armas não se prendem a mim nem me ferem. Tendo-me curvado diante do prudente Vyāsa—filho de Parāśara—por cuja graça esses dons extraordinários se tornaram possíveis, começo agora a narrar-te, ó rei, esta guerra dos Bhāratas, a mais maravilhosa e arrebatadora, exatamente como ocorreu.”
