Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
इत्युक्त्वा तांस्ततो देवा: पुनरेव महीमिमाम्
ity uktvā tāṁs tato devāḥ punar eva mahīm imām
Tendo-lhes falado assim, os deuses voltaram mais uma vez sua atenção para esta mesma terra—retornando a ela para levar adiante o que fora ordenado, em conformidade com a ordem cósmica e o dever.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse underscores that divine action follows spoken resolve and is directed toward restoring or maintaining dharma on earth; speech (decision/command) is followed by purposeful return to worldly responsibility.
Bhīṣma narrates that after addressing certain beings (“them”), the gods proceed again toward the earth, indicating a renewed engagement with earthly affairs as the next step in the story.
