Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
स्कन्नमात्रं च तच्छुक्रे ख्रुवेण परिगृह्म सः । आज्यवन्मन्त्रतश्नापि सोडजुहोद् भूगुनन्दन
skannamātraṃ ca tacchukre khruveṇa parigṛhya saḥ | ājyavanmantrataś cāpi so 'dya juhod bhṛgunandana ||
Vasiṣṭha disse: “No exato momento em que o sêmen caiu, ele o recolheu rapidamente com a concha sacrificial (khruva). Então, ó alegria da linhagem dos Bhṛgus, ele mesmo recitou os mantras e o ofereceu ao fogo como se fosse manteiga clarificada (ghee). Assim, mesmo num imprevisto súbito, agiu com disciplina ritual e autocontrole, convertendo um deslize em um ato regulado, em vez de permitir que se tornasse causa de desordem.”
