Anuśāsana-parva 17
तेजसामपि यत् तेजस्तपसामपि यत् तपः । शान्तानामपि य: शान्तो द्युतीनामपि या झ्युति:
tejasām api yat tejas tapasām api yat tapaḥ | śāntānām api yaḥ śānto dyutīnām api yā dyutiḥ ||
Vāyu disse: “Aquele que é o próprio brilho entre os brilhantes, a própria austeridade entre os ascetas; aquele que é o mais sereno entre os serenos e a radiância entre tudo o que resplandece—ele é a excelência suprema em toda excelência. Dele nascem os mundos e nele se dissolvem; ele é o Si-mesmo de todos os seres. Agora ouve de mim, ó melhor dos homens: proclamarei os mil e oito nomes desse Senhor Śiva, de esplendor incomensurável. Apenas por ouvi-los, alcançarás a realização de todos os teus desejos.”
