गुरुर्गुरुतमो धाम सत्य: सत्यपराक्रम: । निमिषो5निमिष: सत्रग्वी वाचस्पतिरुदारथी:
gurur gurutamo dhāma satyaḥ satyaparākramaḥ | nimiṣo'nimiṣaḥ sragvī vācaspatir udāradhīḥ ||
Bhīṣma disse: Ele é o Guru — o preceptor supremo; o mais exaltado dos mestres; o próprio refúgio e morada de tudo. Ele é a Verdade em si, cujo valor jamais falha. Ele é Aquele cujos olhos se fecham no sono ióguico e também o Incessante, de olhar sem pestanejar, que assume a forma do Peixe. Ele traz a guirlanda da vitória e, como Senhor da palavra e do conhecimento, possui um intelecto nobre e iluminador que torna as realidades manifestas.
