ईश्वरो विक्रमी धन्वी मेधावी विक्रम: क्रम: । अनुत्तमो दुराधर्ष: कृतज्ञ: कृतिरात्मवान्‌

Transliteration

īśvaro vikramī dhanvī medhāvī vikramaḥ kramaḥ | anuttamo durādharṣaḥ kṛtajñaḥ kṛtir ātmavān ||

Translation

Disse Bhīṣma: Ele é o Senhor—poderoso e soberano; heroico e valente; o portador do arco; de inteligência suprema; a própria personificação da proeza e do passo deliberado. Ele é incomparável e inatingível, grato até pela menor oferenda; fundamento de todo esforço humano eficaz; e senhor de si—habitando em sua própria glória.
