द्रौपदी-वरण-प्रत्ययः — Intelligence Reports and the Kaurava Court’s Response
कृतं हि तत् स्यात् सुकृतं ममेद॑ यशभश्न पुण्यं च हितं तदेतत् । “उनका यह कहना है कि यदि मेरा यह मनोरथ पूर्ण हो जाय, तो मैं समझूँगा कि यह मेरे शुभ कर्मोका फल प्राप्त हुआ है। यही मेरे लिये यश, पुण्य और हितकी बात होगी”
kṛtaṃ hi tat syāt sukṛtaṃ mamedaṃ yaśaś ca puṇyaṃ ca hitaṃ tad etat |
Se esse meu desejo se cumprir, eu o considerarei a verdadeira fruição de minhas boas ações. Para mim, só isso se tornará fama, mérito e benefício genuíno — um desfecho em harmonia com o dharma e com o auspicioso.
धृष्टह्ुम्न उवाच
The verse links the fulfillment of a righteous intention with the fruition of past merit: true success is measured not merely by attainment, but by whether it yields yaśas (honorable reputation), puṇya (moral/spiritual merit), and hita (genuine welfare).
Dhṛṣṭadyumna speaks of a personal resolve or desired outcome, stating that if it is achieved he will consider it the result of his virtuous deeds, bringing him honor, merit, and benefit.
