FAQs

It imparts the soteriological discipline (jnana-yoga sadhana) of cultivating detachment from sense-objects, abandoning egoism, and practicing reflective contemplation on the inherent defects of worldly existence.

Alongside ritual, polity, medicine, and arts, the Agni Purana also preserves concise moksha-dharma instructions; this verse exemplifies its philosophical compendium by listing core renunciatory practices used across classical Hindu liberation teachings.

Detachment and egolessness reduce binding desire and doership, while contemplation on birth–death–disease weakens attachment; together they purify the mind and support liberation-oriented insight.
