viṣṇorādyā purī yeyaṃ kṣitiṃ na spṛśati dvija | viṣṇoḥ sudarśane cakre sthitā puṇyakarī kṣitau

Tirtha: Ayodhyā (Viṣṇor ādyā purī)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Dvija / Brāhmaṇa
Scene: Ayodhyā depicted as a luminous city hovering slightly above the ground, resting upon a vast radiant Sudarśana-chakra; rays of sanctity descend to the earth and pilgrims below.
A supreme holy city is upheld by divine power; its sanctity is portrayed as transcendent, not limited by ordinary geography.
Ayodhyā, presented as Viṣṇu’s ancient city upheld upon the Sudarśana discus.
No direct prescription; it explains Ayodhyā’s divine foundation as the basis for its merit-giving power.
