śṛṇu rājanyathāvṛttamitihāsa purātanam | ṛṣibhirbahudhā gītamarbude parvatottame

Translation

ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਵ੍ਰਿਤਾਂਤ ਵਾਪਰਿਆ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਚੀਨ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਸੁਣ। ਅਰਬੁਦ—ਪਹਾੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼੍ਰੇਸ਼ਠ—ਉੱਤੇ ਰਿਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਨੇਕ ਢੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
