evamuktāstataḥ sarve kāmādyāste drutaṃ yayuḥ | martyaloke mahārāja rakṣāṃ cakruśca sarvaśaḥ
Pulastya (continuing narration)
Listener: Mahārāja (king)
Scene: A panoramic human world where invisible sentries of passion stand at crossroads, markets, and homes; threads of influence crisscross like a net; a distant Devī temple glows as a lone refuge-point.
Worldly impulses organize themselves to keep people distracted; spiritual life requires steadiness and discernment.
The narrative supports the glory of Caṇḍikā’s shrine by showing opposition forces trying to obstruct devotion to it.
None; it describes the spread of obstructive influences in the human realm.
