tatastānsa punaḥ prāha yuṣmākaṃ janako'dhunā | aśakto mā divaṃ netuṃ saśarīraṃ visarjitaḥ
King (narādhipaḥ)
Listener: Śaunaka and the Naimiṣāraṇya sages (implied)
Scene: The king speaks firmly to the assembled sages, gesturing toward the sky; Vasiṣṭha is shown in the background, serene yet withdrawn, indicating inability/refusal; the sons listen attentively.
Self-willed spiritual ambition, when detached from humility and right guidance, becomes a cause of conflict rather than upliftment.
No named tīrtha is stated in this verse; it functions as narrative setup within the Tīrthamāhātmya.
The implied means is a yajña (sacrificial rite) to attain heavenly ascent, but no procedural details are given here.
