Skanda (deduced from Nāgarakhaṇḍa Tīrthamāhātmya narration style)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Before the assembled Twelve Ādityas, a teacher-priest gestures as if enumerating observances; a scroll or palm-leaf manuscript is present; devotees listen, preparing to undertake vratas.
Disciplined vows (vratas) structured as a sequence are portrayed as a systematic path to accruing puṇya and spiritual uplift.
The vratas are taught in the setting of Hāṭakeśvara-kṣetra where the Ādityas are installed.
A set of twenty-one observances termed Āditya-vratas is introduced, with a promise to explain their merits.
