मानुषेण दिनेनैव प्रेतलोके दिनं स्मृतम् । तस्माद्दिनेदिने देयं प्रेतायान्नं च वत्सरम्

Transliteration

mānuṣeṇa dinenaiva pretaloke dinaṃ smṛtam | tasmāddinedine deyaṃ pretāyānnaṃ ca vatsaram

Translation

ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਹੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ-ਲੋਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ; ਇਸ ਲਈ ਦਿਨੋਂ-ਦਿਨ ਪ੍ਰੇਤ ਲਈ ਅੰਨ-ਦਾਨ ਪੂਰੇ ਇਕ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਤੱਕ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
