वाक्यज्ञेयेषु भिन्नेषु यत्राभेदः प्रदृश्यते । तत्रातिशयहेतुत्वं तत्सौक्ष्म्यमिति निर्दिशेत्
vākyajñeyeṣu bhinneṣu yatrābhedaḥ pradṛśyate | tatrātiśayahetutvaṃ tatsaukṣmyamiti nirdiśet
ਜਦੋਂ ਵਾਕ ਦੇ ਜਾਣਨਯੋਗ ਅਰਥ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹੋਣ, ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਭੇਦ ਏਕਤਾ ਦਿਸ ਪਏ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ-ਜਨਕ ਸੰਬੰਧ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕਰੇ—ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ‘ਸੌਕ੍ਸ਼ਮ੍ਯ’ (ਸੂਖਮਤਾ) ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
