Skanda Purana — Mahesvara Khanda, Shloka 109

अनिच्छंत्यां कुमार्यां च वरं द्रव्यं च पार्थिवः । तथान्यदपि प्रीत्यासौ यद्ददौ नृपतिः श्रृणु

Transliteration

anicchaṃtyāṃ kumāryāṃ ca varaṃ dravyaṃ ca pārthivaḥ | tathānyadapi prītyāsau yaddadau nṛpatiḥ śrṛṇu

Translation

ਕੁਮਾਰੀ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਰ ਅਤੇ ਧਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ; ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਵਸ਼ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਹੋਰ ਭੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਕੁਝ ਦਿੱਤਾ—ਹੇ ਸੁਣੋ, ਉਸ ਨ੍ਰਿਪ ਨੇ ਕੀ ਕੁਝ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਿਆ।
