Transliteration

vaktumicchuḥ śailaputrīṃ sakhībhiriti coditaḥ | brahmanniyaṃ mahābhāgā gṛhītaniyamā śubhā

Translation

ਸ਼ੈਲਪੁਤ੍ਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਣ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਖੀਆਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਿਤ ਹੋ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ: “ਹੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ, ਇਹ ਮਹਾਭਾਗਾ ਤੇ ਸ਼ੁਭਾ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਨੇ ਨਿਯਮ (ਵ੍ਰਤ) ਧਾਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।”
