कूर्म उवाच । शांडिल्य इति विख्यातः पुराहमभवं द्विजः । बालभावे मया भूप क्रीडमानेन निर्मितम्
kūrma uvāca | śāṃḍilya iti vikhyātaḥ purāhamabhavaṃ dvijaḥ | bālabhāve mayā bhūpa krīḍamānena nirmitam
ਕੂರ್ಮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ: ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਦਵਿਜ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਸੀ, ਸ਼ਾਂਡਿਲ੍ਯ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ। ਹੇ ਰਾਜਨ, ਬਾਲ ਅਵਸਥਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੇਡਦਿਆਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕ ਰਚਨਾ ਬਣਾਈ।
