सदा पौनर्भवा कन्या वर्ज नीया कुलाधमा । वाचा दत्ता मनोदत्ता कृतकौतुकमंगला

Transliteration

sadā paunarbhavā kanyā varja nīyā kulādhamā | vācā dattā manodattā kṛtakautukamaṃgalā

Translation

ਜੋ ਕੁੜੀ ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ‘ਪੁਨਰਭਵਾ’ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਵਾਪਸ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਕੁਲ-ਧਰਮ ਨਿਭਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲਈ ਸਦਾ ਵਿਆਹ-ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ। ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਨ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਤਾ, ਮਨ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਤਾ, ਜਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਮੰਗਲਮਈ ਸਗਾਈ-ਕੌਤੁਕ ਹੋ ਚੁੱਕਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਲਵੇ।
