Vyasa
Tattva Level: pashu
Shiva Form: Dakṣiṇāmūrti
Sthala Purana: Colophon-like closure: those established in complete bodha-samādhi attain supreme peace; Vyāsa declares the Śiva Purāṇa completed—this is textual ‘samāpti’ rather than a shrine legend.
Significance: Treats the Purāṇa itself as a liberating vehicle: śravaṇa/pāṭha leading to bodha-samādhi and paramā nirvṛti (mokṣa).
Role: liberating
Offering: pushpa
It presents the culmination of Shaiva teaching: when complete spiritual understanding matures into samādhi, the soul attains supreme peace (nirvṛti), and the Purāṇa itself is affirmed as a reverently transmitted means toward that liberation.
By declaring the Śiva Purāṇa “beneficial,” Vyāsa implies its practices—devotion to Śiva, including Liṅga-upāsanā and Saguna contemplation—lead the practitioner toward inner realization that flowers as samādhi and liberation.
The verse points to meditation culminating in samādhi; in the Shiva Purana’s Shaiva framework this is typically supported by steady Śiva-bhakti, japa of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya), and contemplative worship of the Liṅga.
