Bāṇāsura Receives Gaṇapatya; Genealogical Prelude
punarāha tato rudro nandinaṃ paravibhramaḥ | punargaccha tatastāta kṣipramā naya pārvatīm
Lord Shiva (Rudra)
Tattva Level: pati
Shiva Form: Rudra
Shakti Form: Pārvatī
Role: liberating
It highlights Shiva as Pati (the Supreme Lord) whose will is effortless and decisive, and it presents Nandi as the model devotee—pure seva (service) performed promptly becomes a lived form of bhakti.
The verse reflects Saguna Shiva’s personal līlā and governance: devotees relate to Shiva as a present Lord who directs and protects. In Linga-worship, this same Lord is approached through disciplined devotion, reverence, and obedient alignment with dharma.
A practical takeaway is “kṣipra-sevā”—prompt, attentive service offered to Shiva: begin worship without delay, chant the Panchākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya) with steadiness, and maintain a Nandi-like attitude of readiness and humility.
