Sūta Gosvāmin (narrating to the sages at Naimiṣāraṇya; chapter colophon style)
Sthala Purana: This is a colophon (iti…): it frames the Satī-janma narrative rather than a specific liṅga-sthala. No discrete Jyotirliṅga origin is asserted here.
Significance: Textual śravaṇa/paṭhana merit: hearing the Satīkhaṇḍa is traditionally held to cultivate śiva-bhakti and auspiciousness (maṅgala) through kathā-śravaṇa.
Shakti Form: Satī
This is a colophon marking the completion of a chapter; spiritually, it frames Satī’s birth and childhood līlā as sacred narration meant to awaken bhakti toward Śiva and reverence for Śiva-Śakti’s divine play within dharma.
By situating the narrative in the Rudra Saṃhitā’s Satī Khaṇḍa, it supports Saguna devotion—approaching Śiva through his relational līlā with Satī—often leading devotees to Linga-worship as the stable, compassionate form of Śiva for daily pūjā.
A practical takeaway is śravaṇa (devotional listening/recitation) of the Satī narrative as a vrata-aṅga; devotees may pair it with japa of the Pañcākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya” to internalize Śiva-bhakti.
