vicāryeti ca sā devī vapuṣo malasaṃbhavam | puruṣaṃ nirmamau sā tu sarvalakṣaṇasaṃyutam

The verse highlights the Goddess’s sovereign śakti: even what is called “mala” (impurity) can be transformed into purposeful creation, indicating that under divine will, the mundane becomes an instrument for dharma and protection.
In Shaiva understanding, Śiva is worshiped as both Nirguṇa and Saguṇa; here the narrative stresses Saguṇa līlā—Divine Mother’s manifest action—supporting the devotional framework in which devotees approach Śiva and Śakti through form, story, and ritual.
A takeaway is disciplined bodily and mental purity offered to Śiva—such as applying tripuṇḍra bhasma with remembrance of the Pañcākṣarī (Om Namaḥ Śivāya)—recognizing that even impurities are to be consecrated and redirected toward devotion.
