उक्षन्ते अश्वाँ अत्याँ इवाजिषु नदस्य कर्णैस्तुरयन्त आशुभिः । हिरण्यशिप्रा मरुतो दविध्वतः पृक्षं याथ पृषतीभिः समन्यवः ॥

ukṣánte aśvā́n atyā́n ivā́jiṣu nadásya kárṇais turayanta āśúbhiḥ | híraṇya-śiprā maruto dáv idhvataḥ pṛkṣáṃ yātha pṛ́ṣatībhiḥ sa-manyavaḥ ||

ਯਜ्ञੀ ਮੁਕਾਬਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੌੜਾਕਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਸ਼ਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਕਸਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ; ਗੱਜਦੇ ਨਾਦ ਦੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ, ਉਹ ਤੇਜ਼ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧਦੇ ਹਨ। ਹੇ ਸੁਵਰਨ-ਜਬੜਿਆਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਰੁਤੋ, ਬਲ ਨਾਲ ਕੰਬਦੇ, ਇਕੋ ਇੱਛਾ ਤੇ ਜੋਸ਼ ਵਾਲੇ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚਿਤਰੇ ਅਸ਼ਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਵਾਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋ।
